About Us - Genesis
Concept of creating an umbrella organization emerged as a result of conference held in 1968 on “Rehabilitation of the Differently abled”.

Group of eminent professionals, Doctors, Social Workers came together to establish – National Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped, a society with great vision to serve the cause of persons with disabilities. As a registered organization on 9th Day of December, 1968 (NASEOH) commenced its work.

Milestone – 1968-1985 :
NASEOH networked with Indian Government, National and International bodies to create Awareness on the problems and issues concerning the differently abled in the area of Education, Vocational Training, Employment and advocacy.

To evolve a clear policy at a National level and to strengthen the work for the differently abled to promote equal opportunities, better social order, and economic justice, NASEOH organized conferences, workshops at All India level and proposed an Recommendations and Action plan, Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of India for their consideration.  NASEOH PLAYED A HUGE ROLE IN Awakening.

Shift in NASEOH’s Policy :
In the year 1977, as the progress in strengthening the work for the differently abled continued vigorously, NASEOH decided to provide direct service to the people with disability, in “Capacity Building” for effective integration.

NASEOH was given 3 acres of land from Government of Maharashtra on lease at Chembur, to build National center for Handicapped.

1983 :
As a first phase a 64,000 square feet, disabled friendly Vocational Training Center was built amidst lush green environment in Chembur, the nerve center of all activities.
